Biography

The passion for photography has been in me since I was a child.  My grandmother gave me my first camera, and it was as though I was continuing a family tradition ... my uncle, a recognised photographer, encouraged my creativity and taught me to develop my own film.  As the years went by, I honed my skills.  I realised that people truly fascinate me, and I have a deep need to capture moments that reflect their essence clearly.  Photography (moving and still) is perhaps the only way of suspending moments in time, for always.

A life-changing incident caused me to focus more closely on my art, and I choose to bring to light things which are often hidden in darkness.  For this, the black and white medium is perfect for me.  I can capture the provocativeness and gentle beauty of a nude, and the tragedy of a person's suffering, and craft stories with these images.  A picture's worth a thousand words, and as carefully as an author writes, so too do I work - every shadow, every highlight, carefully placed to bring full meaning to the story I am telling.

I have done a number of photo shoots in Italy, in the area of Rome.  However, I travel extensively, and have captured images in India, Sicily, and the United States of America.  I continue to travel, and hope you will enjoy the images I will be uploading.
